Shortly afterward, the Pacific Railroad gained access to the land, eventually suffering the same fate as the previous railroad. It was not until the 1880s that the land was purchased again, this time by the San Diego Land and Town Company. For many years the community was home to the simple life, but with 1905 came plenty of expansion and growth and the area soon became a diverse business section. There have been recent talks about transforming the industrial areas into a more walkable, transit-oriented neighborhood. The city also intends to make the existing trolley a major asset to the neighborhood. In addition, a new school has just entered the picture and there are also plans for new urban hiking trails and parks.

Logan Heights is an extremely centralized location within a short driving distance of almost anything you would ever need. Downtown San Diego is just a short 10-minute drive, the airport is only 20 minutes away, and the world famous Balboa Park is only an 8-minute drive.
